Build good things.

You may not use Treechat to:

• plan, facilitate or conceal illegal activity, violence, terrorism, trafficking or credible threats;
• create instructions that meaningfully enable serious physical harm, dangerous weapons or evasion of safety controls;
• encourage self-harm or exploit a person in crisis; or
• generate or distribute child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving minors, grooming material or any exploitation of children.

You may not:

• create malware, phishing, credential theft, destructive code or instructions for unauthorised access;
• scan, probe, attack or disrupt systems without clear authorisation;
• automate accounts, scrape the service, resell access or bypass technical, safety, rate, plan or cost controls;
• abuse promotions or referrals, create fake accounts, manipulate usage records or submit fraudulent payment disputes; or
• interfere with Treechat, its providers or other users.

Defensive security work is allowed when you own the system or have explicit permission and your activity is proportionate and lawful.

• Do not impersonate a person or organisation to deceive, defraud or cause harm.
• Do not create scams, fraudulent documents, fake reviews, election interference, deceptive political persuasion or non-consensual synthetic media.
• Do not generate or send spam, harassment, stalking, doxxing or targeted abuse.
• Clearly disclose AI-generated content where the context, platform rules or law requires it.

• Do not submit personal, confidential or biometric data you do not have permission to process.
• Do not infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity or other rights.
• Do not infer or make high-impact decisions about people based on highly sensitive traits without a lawful basis, appropriate safeguards and meaningful human review.

Do not use Treechat as the sole decision-maker for employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, policing, immigration, legal services, medical treatment or another decision that could significantly affect a person. Qualified humans must verify relevant facts, consider context and remain accountable.

We may block a request, reduce access, preserve relevant evidence or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to prevent harm or investigate a suspected breach. We consider severity, intent, repetition, context and remediation. Serious or legally required matters may be reported to authorities.

We may update this policy as risks, law and the product change. Material changes will be announced reasonably before they take effect unless urgent action is needed for safety or law.
